The Jamaica international has published the reasons behind his injury-hit debut season at Aston Villa and how he feels that these problems are now finally behind him

Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey has claimed that he “feels like a new signing” this season after struggling an injury-hit first campaign at the club.

The Jamaica international scored his first goal of the season against Bolton Wanderers in the midweek Carabao Cup 2nd round tie after returning to the beginning XI against Crystal Palace at the weekend and helping Ollie Watkins ‘ opener. Bailey additionally featured in the opening two matches of the season, beginning Villa ‘s match at Bournemouth before being introduced as a replacement versus Everton.

Last season’s summer signing featured in 4 or more matches in succession simply twice last term after arriving from Bayer Leverkusen. “Physically, I experience amazing,” Bailey informed VillaTV. “Last season was a really challenging one for me because from the begin of my time here at Villa, I’ve had difficulties with my body – not because of here however a preceding injury before I came.

“Everything began off wrong, and I hope I can change that this season. I favor to do what I know I can do.”I experience like a new player, a new signing for Villa. I trust my body way more than I did remaining season, and I understand what I’m succesful of.”

“I know what I can supply and how important I can be for the team. I experience very confident, centered and ready to keep things going by using winning sport after game. That’s the mentality.”
