Chelsea defender, Reece James, has broken his silence amid claims that he could omit the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar due to injury.
James took to his Twitter account to let fans know that he is determined to recover in time to make it to subsequent month’s World Cup.
The England international tweeted at the weekend: “The race against time is on… But we won’t supply up.”
Reports had in the past emerged that James is anticipated to be sidelined for eight weeks with a knee problem.
Therefore, James’ place in England’s World Cup squad is now dubious for the upcoming tournament, which is set to begin on 20 November.
The right-back picked up the injury in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League in midweek.
He had to be replaced through captain Cesar Azpilicueta in the 62nd minute, however after scans, the injury now looks greater serious than firstly thought.
