EPL: Diego Costa slams Antonio Conte after his Stamford Bridge return

Diego Costa has slammed former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte for forcing him out of Stamford Bridge in 2017.

The Brazilan made his ‘special’ return to Stamford Bridge with new club Wolves on Saturday and used to be on the dropping end.

Costa scored 59 dreams in 120 games for the Blues, helping the west London club win two Premier League titles and the League Cup.

In the summer of 2017, then-Chelsea boss Conte informed Costa he was once no longer phase of his plans.

Costa, a former Spain international subsequently again to his former club Atletico Madrid.

Speaking to reporters after his overwhelming reception at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, Costa made it clear that his problems are with the modern Tottenham manager rather than Chelsea fans.

“It was once special,” Costa instructed ESPN Brazil. “Feeling that you did your job when you were here and then leaving with exact memories.

“Receiving this affection from the Chelsea fans… I’ve usually had affection. I have nothing to bitch about the Chelsea fans. When I was once here, they usually handled me well.

“It wasn’t the fans. It was once with that coach… Conte. I had a very good relationship with the Chelsea fans. I was a champion! It was in the yr that we won the 2d title. Conte didn’t matter on me as an awful lot and I couldn’t stay.

“The affection I obtained today indicates that I was never conflict with the fans. But I had to leave. It wasn’t my issue.

“It was once because of the coach at that moment. Today is proof that the crowd has continually been via my aspect and had affection for me.”
