Former Chelsea defender William Gallas has slammed the club’s summer signings Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Wesley Fofana and Marc Cucurella.

The trio joined the Blues in the summer with the club spending over £280 million on new signings under Thomas Tuchel.

Established stars such as Marcos Alonso and Andreas Christensen with Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner were allowed to part ways with the club.

While Fofana and Cucurella joined from Premier League sides, Leicester City and Brighton respectively, Aubameyang moved to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona.

Other arrivals were Raheem Sterling from Manchester City, Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli, Carney Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa and Gabriel Slonina also arrived in West London with Denis Zakaria joining from Juventus on loan.

Weeks after their arrival, Tuchel was sacked and replaced with Graham Potter

“I’m very disappointed. I’m very disappointed with where Chelsea are,” Gallas told Genting Casino.

“They are not picking up any results, and I think the club are suffering after a transfer window and period where Tuchel was sacked that lacked any form of strategy.

“They spent a lot of money in the summer. The players that they signed have been performing below the expected level of a Chelsea player.

“Wesley Fofana is injured, but we all knew about his injury record. I don’t know what they are getting from Cucurella.

“They signed Aubameyang. He doesn’t look good – he did nothing against Arsenal and was on the bench against Newcastle. “
