Referee Simon Hooper would have been “disappointed,” according to Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, if he had been a player for the Premier League champions during Sunday’s 3-3 draw with Tottenham.

After Jack Grealish was let through on goal by a foul on Erling Haaland, Hooper controversially stopped a City attempt.

Haaland and his teammates reacted angrily to his decision, seeing it as an opportunity to go up 4-3 late in the game.

After the game, Haaland could be seen fuming as he made his way to the dressing room.

When asked about the Norwegian’s reaction, Guardiola said: “It’s normal. If the referee played for Manchester City today, he would have been disappointed too.”
