Liverpool are still pursuing Southampton’s Romeo Lavia just days out of their Premier League clash against Chelsea on August 13.

Having had three bids for the teenage star rejected, the Reds have been reluctant to meet the £50 million asking price. But having lost midfielders James Milner, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho this summer, Klopp will surely not want to prolong the move any longer.

Klopp’s side signed off pre-season on a positive note on Monday night, showing flashes of attacking brilliance in beating German side Darmstadt 3-1. And here, Mirror Football rounds up the latest transfer news and rumors from Anfield in the last 24 hours.

Romeo Lavia

Romeo Lavia was left out of Southampton’s EFL Cup clash against Gillingham on Tuesday. The Liverpool transfer target posted a social media update with ” positive vibes.”

Lavia, 19, tops the Reds’ transfer wish list, but they have seen three approaches for the talented teenager knocked back by the Saints. Southampton have placed a £50m price tag on their star midfielder, with their latest bid from the Reds rejected, totaling £46m.

But clearly still hopeful of a move, on Tuesday Lavia posted a photo of himself in training alongside the caption: ” Excellent vibes this morning #keepgrinding.” Mirror Reports
