Arsenal legend, Paul Merson has mocked Gunners’ striker Gabriel Jesus’ goal record at Manchester City.

He noted that the Brazilian’s current goal drought at Arsenal is all too familiar going by his record at the Etihad.

Jesus moved to the Emirates from Manchester City over the summer and the 25-year-old has had a transformative impact on Mikel Arteta’s side.

He has helped the club maintain the top spot in the English top flight after scoring five goals in nine games at the start of the new season.

However, the Brazil international has now gone eight matches in all competitions without finding the back of the net.

Merson suggested it should be impossible for a striker not to be banging in the goals in City’s attack.

He said: “You shouldn’t be having them at Man City. There are going to be games where it’s going to be tight and you need your goalscorer.”
