Nico Gonzalez is leaving Barcelona on a season-long loan deal

According to a report by Spanish guide SPORT, Nico Gonzalez will proceed his progress at Valencia CF in the 2022/23 season. Los Che will soon sign the 20-year-old whizkid from fellow La Liga club Barcelona after the two golf equipment reached an agreement over a year-long loan deal.

Nico Gonzalez has been with Barcelona since joining their famed La Masia academy as an 11-year-old in 2013. The Spanish wonderkid has made excellent progress in the decade that has handed since then, with the Blaugrana scrambling to preserve his services last summer before tying him to a new contract.

The 20-year-old has benefitted from Barcelona’s economic struggles in the final few years, and he made 36 appearances for the Catalan club in the 2021/22 campaign. But Nico will unlikely function prominently for Barcelona in the 2022/23 season, with the Blaugrana signing Franck Kessie this summer and keenly pursuing a go for Bernardo Silva.Silva’s potential arrival will leave Nico teetering at the backside of the pecking order for midfielders at Camp Nou.

The Spanish whizkid is thus searching to depart Barcelona briefly to proceed his progress, with La Liga club Valencia keen on securing his offerings in the ongoing switch window.

Gennaro Gattuso has a few concerns to tackle in his squad this summer, and reinforcing the midfield department is one of his primary objectives. Hugo Guillamon and Carlos Soler are in the last year of their respective contracts, whilst Uros Racic tends to blow warm and cold. The Valencia boss is thus keen to convey in a new midfielder for the 2022/23 season.

Lucas Torreira was originally the top target for Valencia, however the Uruguayan midfielder has joined Galatasaray this summer. But several choices stay on Los Che’s radar, which include Tiemoue Bakayoko, with Nico Gonzalez also rising as an choice worth considering.
